Ordinary moments can be elevated to extraordinary moments. How about a beautiful dinner party with two guests? I believe that very simple thought can incite a multitude of delightful experiences to elevate mood. Here is how I thought how so many things come together with it, rather effortlessly.
Happiness (That comes with something to look forward to!)
Warmth (Connecting with friends)
Choosing a rare Summer recipe (Creative adventure)
Playing great uplifting songs (Hearing)
A beautiful Summer breeze of basil or candle (Sensual smell)
Flowers, summer garden, or ambience of your table- Grateful for whatever you have (Seeing)
Kneading a dough, making bread, or working with tools (Soothing Touch)
Savoring the spoils (Tasting)
Last but not the least, “focus outwardly” giving your full attention to those you love than being caught up in your own mind (Intentional and being present)
Several elements of dialectic therapy or cognitive therapy take life in creating positive experiences and thoughts. Negative thoughts may just be like the salt to the recipe. Instead of trying hard to get rid of it, how about adding other rich elements into the summer recipe as in adding positive vibes?! People often say go with the flow. You can do better than that. I think you can improvise it by arranging the sails, going around the rough waves and doing what is best for you. All will be well. Happy summer.
